The Apple of her Fathers' Eyes

In January of 1996, my first precious daughter arrived. This being my first labor experience, I really had no clue what to expect. I'd seen it on TV shows, but wasn't a regular watcher of the "Baby Story" just yet. The movie Nine Months gave me somewhat of an idea, but I didn't see Robin Williams anywhere!

First of all, we actually checked into the WRONG hospital! I didn’t find this out, of course until AFTER I delivered. The billing mess created by this fiasco would follow me for years.

After 19 hours of labor, at 9:11 am my sweet girl came into this world. She was nothing like what I expected. She was all red and puffy, and had black hair and not like what I pictured.

We brought her home….she was the sweetest baby. I knew in my heart, that THIS is what God called me to be - a Mom. I vowed to be the greatest mommy ever. I wanted to give my daughter the world!

We spent the days together, playing, going to parks. She was the most important person in my life! So much video and picture taking - the first always gets the glory, don't they?

She bore the brunt of the divorce, being just old enough to know her father was leaving, and just young enough to adapt well to Prince Charming coming into her life. She continues to wrap both fathers around her pinky - lucky for her she's got two pinkies for her two dads!

She is growing up so fast. Now 11 yrs old, she is such an amazing girl, armed with a big heart. She is one of the favorite students among the teachers at her school, and is learning fast that being popular does not go hand in hand with being right and just.

Taking Advantage of My Two Dads

1. Both know they are vying for the right to walk me down the aisle!

2. If one doesn't buy me a car, well, I've got a spare!

3. You wouldn't believe the Christmas loot!

4. Bad notes from school? Only half of them need be known to either Dad!

5. I can always play the "My other Dad lets me" card.

6. Two chances for boyfriends to make first impressions!

7. Twice the love - for the rest of my life!

Thank You!
